Opening borrowed library book on kobo

Ive downloaded and authorized adobe editions with no problem. Borrowed ebook from my library and opened in editions, dragged to kobo device, it copies fine. But when I safety eject device and try to open book on kobo (it shows the book has been added to kobo) it says I dont have permission to open the file. What am I doing wrong?
