Password problem with deauthorizing Adobe Digital Editions 4.5

I have adobe editions 4.5 on a Mac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020) with macOS Big Sur.

I am trying to deauthorize / erase the computer authorization. I can use Cmd-Shift-D on my Mac to bring up a deauthorization dialog panel. However, using the the password for my Adode ID, I cannot deauthorize / erase the computer authorization. It responds only by tellimg me that I cannot deauthorize my computer and to try later. I have a couple of times reset the password to my Adobe ID account with same results.
