Problem authorising laptop after reload

Hi, laptop crashed and had to be reset to factory settings so have downloaded adobe digital editions to allow me to read epub file books. Had this previously with now issues. I have been unable to authorise laptop, message states book is not associated with my current adobe login. I believe this is because I previously used a work email address which I can no longer access and not sure exactly what it was. is there a way to authorise the laptop and access these books ?? Any help would be appreciated.
