Problem downloading ADE on my laptop

Hi! I have problems downloading ADE on my Asus laptop. According to my Adobe account, ADE is already installed and apperently on a Samsung device. I don't have a Samsung device, I want to download ADE on my laptop so that I can download E-books. I have contacted the help center and they've sent me a link. Downloading ADE worked, however after downloading the program doesn't open when I click on the icon. Could someone help me out with this? Thanks in advance!
