Problem installing Digital Editions

Tried to install Adobe Digital Editions on PC running Windows XP.The problem appears to be that Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 is required, although Service Pack 2 is on PC.Have tried the manual installer but the same problem arises.

Can any one assist?
