Problem storing e-book in Kobo touch e-reader

   Have opened a valid ADE page and obtained an Adobe id with password, sms code and password confirmation.

Computer and e-reader are authorized and e-reader is connected

Have downloaded ACSM files; double clicking on file does not result in opening of the file in ADE but in a  word soup in Word Pad.

The E-book is not transferred to "Library" in ADE and cannot be transferred to e-reader.

What's wrong/ what's my fault.
