Problem turning pages

I am running Windows 7.  When I open a book in ADE, the book opens, but I cannot change the page.  I have tried using the arrow at the bottom and also manually changing the page number.  If I click on either Library or Show/hide navigation and then come back to the book, the page has changed. What am I doing wrong?
