problem with portability

Both my computer (Windows surface)  and my Android based device (a boox, where the ADE  has been installed) authorized with same account/ID.

However, if I download a DRM protected file to my PC, I can read it only on my Surface but not on my Boox. I even tried to send the protected file to the boox and to see if I could open it directly with the app, but the app does not even allow me to upload it. Any suggestions welcome!

What happens exactly in boox is: I click the acsm file, get the option of opening with ADE app but then get a message saying the app has stopped.
