Quitting unexpectedly when transferring e-books

I am trying to transfer a book from Adobe Digital Editions to my KOBO e-reader, and every time it starts the transfer the program quits 'unexpectedly'. It continues to do this with out providing my any comprehensible details as to why.

other times i have tried to transfer an e-book to my KOBO, the software just tells me i don't have permission and simply wont let me do it. Is there a way to maybe up-date the software and thus fix these bugs? But i can't find an up-date feature in the options available to me.

Please any help?!
