Reading speed - unusable

This program will not scroll or switch between pages at a usable speed. The type of scrolling that I have opted does not make the speed any more usable. Does anyone have any suggestions to improve the read speed or how to open the book in another of Adobe's programs that might actually work like acrobat. Cheers
