removing unwanted page breaks

Smashwords conversion software creates an EPUB version of my doc files which it displays in Adobe Digital Editions. Its software has put in some page breaks for no apparent reason in the docfile (like in the middle of my title page). Is there any way I can edit them out of the EPUB directly?
