returned a library book. Trying to re-add it to digital editions and getting an error message saying "E_LIC_ALREADY_RETURNED"

I have a MacBook Pro.

I have deleted the file and re-downloaded it from the library website and it still won't allow me to add it to Digital Editions. Any suggestions?
