Setting up ADE to authorize and activate

I have instructions to from Barnees and Noble to pubic library e-books on nook Instructions

start with opening ADE and a Set Up Assistant pops up- no set up assistant pops up,

or go to help to do this and there is no Hep on the top bar. 

Do I need the popup assistant to set up authorize and activate. 

Or just go to the next setp to connect my nook to my computer and set up assistant pops up (hopefully)to recognize device and authorize it.  

How di I find the Set up Assisant to do these steps?  Thanks
