Suddenly the "copy" feature stopped working in Digital Editions. What to do?

I just downloaded the latest version of Digital Editions and started reading a book. A couple of hours in and suddenly the "copy" text (command+c) stopped working. It is kind of crucial as I use this for notes in a much faster pace than writing it manually. So what do I do to get it to work again?
