Too many activations error

I have had extensive issues with DRM using ADE 4.5.11. I had to go through a 13 step process to reset the Kobo, uninstall and reinstall ADE, and reauthorise, etc. etc.  every time I'd like new books from my library. On my most recent reset I've come up against a too  many activations error. I've followed the steps in support pages with no success. The error messsage tells me to contact Adobe to have the activation number reset, but I can't figure out how to get in toch with someone who can do this. The support chat employee I was talking with told me he's not trained on anything but Adobe Acrobat and referred my to this forum. Can anyone help? I'm pretty frustrated.
