transferring books to kobo

When I download ADE it will not let me transfer to Kobo.  It tells me that I have no permission to copy.  I lost my old computer in a tornado and it worked perfectly on it.  It will not let me put it on new computer.  I have tried to delete, reload, deauthorize, authorize and nothing will let me transfer my library books to Kobo.  I just went on a chat line with adobe and they could not help me at all.  Thanks Lynne
