Transferring e-book to Kobo device

I am trying to transfer a downloaded book to my kobo device, but I get a message saying that Copy Not Allowed no permission to copy this book.

When I downloaded the adobe digital editions first I opted to authorize without an Adobe ID because I couldn't remember it then.

    I have a similar issue with my Kobo.  I am able to transfer the book to the Kobo but it cannot be opened because the permissions do not allow copying, only reading.  I have tried everything suggested by tech support in the forums (i.e. erase ADE authorization and re-authorize, re-install ADE, delete registry entries for the Adept folder, performing a factory reset on the Kobo) and nothing fixes the issue.  I upgraded to ADE version 4.5.2.
