Trouble with Adobe ID and authorization

Trying to authorise my new computer in order to download and transfer e books. Received this: You can only authorise this computer with an Adobe ID that hasn't been previously used to authorise any other computers or mobile devices. Please try again."

My previous computer is dead and gone. Not sure what try again means or what to try? Any suggestions?

    I have the same problem, I have reset my laptop and got a new reader, now can't load books. Can not authorize computer. Please help, want to read.
