Unable to close or quit Digital Editions

This download pop up has been present for over a week, although the download is complete. I am unable to cancel to the download, authorize or deauthorize or quit or close the app. I cannot shut down or update my laptop until I can close this app. Please help!

I have the same problem. The program does not shut down and the only way to shut down is to use the Task Manager in Windows 10 to end the task.
