Unable to Download - Adobe Digital Editions

I have a new MacBook and since I got it I have been unable to transfer library books to Adobe Digital Editions (never had any issues on my old Mac).  I get an error message that says Unable to Download - E-ACT_NOT_READY.  How do I fix this - I have tried unauthorizing but it won't let me.
