Unable to download, no record for this loan is found on this machine, it may have been returned

I'm getting this error message whenever I attempt to borrow a book from my library.  In the forums I saw that this was a problem in an earlier version of digital editions, I attempted all the suggested solutions (ensuring my machine was authorized, deleting the old .acsm files, uninstalling and reinstalling ADE), but so far nothing has worked.

Any ideas?
