Unable to erase authorization in ADE, "try again later" error

Hi, I work for a public library system, and we have had several patrons who, after getting the "check activation" error, are unable to erase the authorization in Adobe Digital Editions 4.0.  When they try to erase the authorization, they get an error that tells them to "try again later."  Apologies if this has already been answered; I saw it posted a few times but did not see a satisfactory answer.

Just tried Adobe chat and they did not have an answer but will escalate and email me back.

Has anyone else encountered and solved this problem?  Thanks!

    Hi,

I was also experiencing the "Unable to erase authorization" issue repeatedly with ADE version 4 on Yosemite (OS X version 10.10).

I was having issues locating the the "~/Library" folder because of hidden flags. Method 3 (see Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 and later) worked for me.

    Thank you,

    Marc

Encountered using the King County Washington / OverDrive system, no resolution. However, I also got an error that indicates the Adobe authorization service is unavailable. It's likely that this is the reason nobody can modify any authorization info with Digital Editions.
