Unable to import ebooks.

I'm using the same Adobe account in my phone and my tablet (both Android). In my phone everything works fine. I'm importing books without any problem. On the other hand in my tablet, after some months of normal operation, Adobe Digital Editions, is not able to handle ebooks (acsm hyperlinks). When I select to import an acsm file I receive an message saying "Please wait while importing content..." and the book is never imported (even after hours!). I have uninstalled/reinstalled ADE and I have deactivated/activated my Adobe account, without success. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
