unable to install Adobe Digital Editions and Windows 8

help - I keep trying to install Adobe Digital Editions on Windows 8 - icon appears; program is in "programs" but ADE isn't there - I've installed, uninstalled several times - and still not up and running - need help- is ADE not compatible with Windows 8?
