Unable to move file from old iPad to new iMAC

Hey all,

I am trying to restore my iPad, but before wanted to get all needed info off. Anyway, I have a book on digital editions that I purchased long ago. I have downloaded digital editions on my new computer, logged in, changed the preferences to auto download old files/sync between computers, but no luck.

Even on my old iPad that i am trying to take from, it has the same email as the account, so it wasn't like i was using an old email/account etc. The customer service team at adobe were not helpful and told me to post here. any suggestions. the book was around 2k and I don't want to lose it.
