Unable to open .acsm on Mac; can't erase authorization or authorize Mac either.

When I try to open the .acsm I get the foloowing:

Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem:
E_ACT_NOT_READY

Following instructions, I then attempt to authorize the computer, but that option is unavailable.  I then try to deauthorize, and I get a message stating, "Unable to erase authorization.  Please try after some time." 

 My authorization information appears to be correct.
