Unable to run Digital Editions after installation

I installed Digital Editions 4.0 successfully under Windows XP, but it doesn't run when I click the icon. Nothing happens. What could be wrong?

Could you please tell the .Net Framework version you have installed on your PC?

Several versions of .NET are installed, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.0.
