Uneven Print or Font

I downloaded Dogital Editions 3.0 on my Lenovo laptop funning Win 8.0 and the font appears to be broken and uneven in both the book I purchased to read with this app as well as the Adobe Getting Started manual included with the download.  I tried enlarging the font and it made reading easier but didn't solve the issue.  Anyone else experiencing this problem?
