Vendor ID?

I downloaded and authorized my computer and device with Adobe Digital Editions.  I borrowed a book from my local library.  I am unable to read my ebook on my computer, nor am I able to transfer the book to my device.  I'm getting a message stating that this computer is unable to open my book because of a vendor ID.  I can't even return the book.  Help please.
