What does this mean?-> E_ACT_NOT_READY

I have a MacBook Pro and I downloaded ADE 2.0 and I am trying to download library Ebooks. I have activated the Nook on the ADE program and I have activated my overdrive account as well.

I first tried downloading ADE 4.0 but was told Nook has issues with that version. Then I downloaded 2.0.

How can I get the library books onto my Nook? I have a Nook Simple Touch

E_ACT_NOT_READY
