What to do when you don't know which adobe account to authenticate an epub file with?

I recently just got a new tablet and wish to download the ebooks I've purchased from Hastings over the years onto it, however with every adobe ID I use, I still get the error: file in use by another user message. I've De-authorized and re- authorized with the three different adobe IDs I know of, however I still get the error. So what I really need to know is if there is a way to reset the epub file so it's like I'm authenticating it for the first time? Would that be an adobe thing or do I need to contact the place where I purchased the book from?
