when I download a urllink.ascm file from kobobooks.com, my samsung laptop is unable to find the Adobe Digital Editions 3.0 that I just downloaded and

I used to be able to download books from kobobooks.com to adobe digital editions on my samsung laptop, and from there onto my Nook ereader.  Since ADE 3.0 came out, I've been unable to get it to work, either on the old 2.0 edition or on 3.0.  what am I doing wrong?
