When I try to download ADE on my Windows 8, why don't I get a run prompt menu

When i try to download ADE onto my Windows 8 laptop, I do not not get a run prompt to click on.   The installer only asks me to save it.  When I click save I get a message from macafee asking to allow this program access to my computer.  I click yes and I get the user agreement window which I accept.  When I do  it starts to download.  When i go to my library to borrow  an ebook, macafee prompts me again as to whether i would allow ADE to make changes.  When I click yes it goes through the whole download thing again but the book I am borrowing does not appear in the ADE library.
