When using arrow keys to turn pages the pages won't turn.

I wiped and reinstalled all of windows 7 and programs. up to date on all updates using Ninite and windows update service. Installed the 4.0.3.117585 version of Adobe digital editions off the website. When I use the demo book they give you and use the arrow keys to flip through the pages it will not turn the pages. If I leave the book on page 3 or any other page and exit out of the book than return to the book the page will be on the page I left it on. If I again try to use the arrows to turn the pages they don't turn. The progress bar showing the page turns work. Any suggestions or anything that I may have missed that will fix this issue.
