Whole page tracks broken on iPad (OS15.2.1)

Hello Community,
I have a problem with a document I downloaded on ADE on iPad:
On my iPad 8 (2019) with the latest software (iPadOS 15.2.1), entire stretches of pages are rendered as if an ink printer were running out of ink (see screenshots). Some pages are also completely blank.
Interestingly, the "broken" pages display fine on the desktop app (version 4.5.11.187606) on my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) running macOS Catalina (version 10.15.7 (19H1715)). So it can't be the document itself, right?
Also, in neither version of the e-paper do the hyperlinks in the text work. Only the table of contents has hyperlinks to the chapters. .... Not quite what you would expect from an e-book.
Does anyone in the community have a tip on how I can fix this?
