Why do I just get a blank screen when I open up digital editions 4.5?

Why do I just get a blank screen when I open up digital editions 4.5? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that has not helped. I can no longer download books or open existing books as I don't get the Library option.

    Which operating system you used?

    Windows 8.  I haven't upgraded to windows 10 as I have heard some bad stories.

    Then Closed the Programm. Rename the My Digital Edition Folder in his Document Folder and open Adobe Digital Edition again. Then try to Download eBooks.
