Why doesn't acsm open in ADE

I download book from my library - it shows as acsm - when I try to open it - it either disappears or wants me to choose where to open it and then won't open at all. I do not have this problem in my kobo tablet but nothing works for my kobo glo e reader.

    I assume you have ADE installed on your computer.  You need to "associate" acsm files with ADE.

    In Windows 7 :  Click Start, then Default Programs, then associate a file type or program, then set acsm to ADE.  For other Operating systems google associate and the OS.
