Why is ADE crashing whenever I try to move books into it from downloads?

I have been using ADE for 2 years and all of a sudden it crashes every time I try to add an ebook I have downloaded from our public library. I am using a MacBook Air if that is pertinent information.

I have the same problem. This was never an issue with ADE 3.0, but the latest version is a real pain. I'm running OSX 10.9.5. I tried reinstalling ADE 3.0, but it would not install properly with 4.0.2 on the computer.

I'm having the same problem. I'm on a macbook running OS X Yosemite version 10.10.1

I am running OS X Yosemite version 10.10.1 as well. Perhaps Adobe needs to give us a solution as in upgrade.

On Adobe website they said 4.0.2 was available. Since my app said I had 4.0 I downloaded and installed the "update" which is still called use Adobe Digital Edition 4.0 once it is reload. All of a sudden my five attempts to move books started and froze on the fifth attempt. I had to force quit my Mac. When I reopened I discovered one book was downloaded five times and the other one twice. I was able to open and read one of the books. However, when I tried to open any one of the five copies of the other book, each time Adobe Digital Editions crashed.

Sadly the problem is not resolved.
