Why won't 3.0 download

I've always used 3.0.  Geek Squad installed new hard drive, and my laptop has gone bonkers (it seems).  Had to get new Office and Quicken software, my printer wouldn't print (it is now), and now my ADE won't let me put books in Nook and isn't showing my bookcases to boot.  I notice it's 4.whatever, but my system doesn't like 4. editions.  It wants 3.0 (yes, it's old, like me).  I find the blue 3.0 link where it always has been, but all it wants to do is give instructions, which I don't need.  

Help?  Either with getting 3.0 back or how do I get laptop to accept 4.whatever version.  Thanks much!
