won't scroll

I just downloaded my first ebook (.acsm) and I cannot scroll. If I move the slider, nothing happens. If I press the arrow keys nothing happens. If I type in the page number in the bottom box, nothing. If I move the scrollbar to a random spot, exit the book, and reopen it, it moved! But I can't scroll on the page at all. 

Is there anything I can do to fix this? I already re-installed the program. Given that ADE is the only app I can use for this type of file, I expected a program with much better quality than what we have now.
