Question

How to isolate label and hide 3D shape?

i have a simple bottle, basically a cylinder ... and i'm applying a simple, rectangular label to it ...

i'd like to hide the cylinder and keep the shape of the label when i export it so i can photoshop the label onto a photograph of a real world bottle.

how can i do this? i did find some older posts about this, but none of them answered the question and i'm hoping somebody has an a more updated solution.

criptic question ... so the way i read this is that you want the label to rendor without the bottle or at least make the bottle easy to remove in edits and the best way to do that would be with translucence which Adobe software can't do anymore

the work around would be to use an opacity map and just clean it up

i have to say, I'd make a prop-label model like the free one you get with Photoshop instead of mucking about with cylinders in Dimension but thats been ripped out now and tossed in the bin so you need older builds
