AAM shows AE CS6 as up to date, and fails to install latest update

I'm on a MAC / OS X 10.7.5. I installed AE CS6. I'm trying to update it to version 11.0.2 but the install fails (says the administrator has suppressed updates). But I'm an admin on the machine. What do I need to do? Also, within the AAM, it says AE CS6 is up to date, but it isn't. Its at version 11.0.0.378 (initial install)

Infact, I went ahead and uninstalled and did a full reinstall via Cloud AAM, but it still installed the 11.0.0.378 version!

Mystified!

I found the solution. This post below lays it out, and deleting file and emptying trash totally did the trick!

Its a joy to watch the progress bar with the 11.0.2 version being installed.

Are you able to download and install the update manually from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/?  You may also want to try creating a new administrator account if you continue to receive a message that the updates are being suppressed.

No, the manual update is what gives me the error. I created a new admin user, but ended up with the same issue.

Starting the AAM that was installed with the cloud opens up but says the software is up-to-date.

This is a conundrum. Any other ideas?

Did you have the software deployed to your computer?  Or are you an individual user and installed the software locally yourself?  Have you tried running the uninstaller, located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers, and then installing After Effects again?
