Question

About uninstalling non-cc adobe tools

Looking at the installer for cc I don't see any mention of uninstalling the non-cc versions.  I haven't seen much talk of it here either.

Seems like it could get messy.

Are there some sort of instructions about getting rid of the pre cc tools, making sure not to mess up any settings or etc?

Hi Harry,

We cannot uninstall any Adobe apps using the Adobe creative cloud, you can uninstall the non CC products using Adobe creative suite cleaner tool available http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html here.

Also, CC and non CC versions are independent from each other & you will be able to use both at the same time.

Settings will not be changed If you uninstall any of the non CC app

Thanks!

Ankit

Thanks for the input.  I just noticed today as I started to uninstall PS CS6 that was installed by Creative cloud before this big update and before there was a 'cc' nomenclature, that those tools do not appears on the windows uninstaller tool.

The only one I could find there was lightroom 4.2.. so is this clearner tool actually the only wayt to uninstall the CS6 tools installed by creative cloud mnths ago?

Ahhh... someting seems a bit wrong here. The instructions (partial) from the 'Cleaner' tool say to uninstall the version of tools you want uninstalled before running the cleaner..  But well there is a little problem:

.. none of those tools (PS, AI, Premier, AE, flash ... and onward) do NOT appear in the windows uninstaller.

(Partial instructions appear at the end)

Am I the only one who does not find those, pre update, Creative Cloud tools in windows uninstaller?

Take from the Adobe instructions on the 'cleaner'

"General Instructions

  1. Uninstall  the desired version of Adobe Creative Cloud / Creative Suite product prior to  using the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.
    • On Windows XP, uninstall the desired product via  Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
    • On Windows Vista or Windows 7, in the Control Panel select Programs then Programs And Features, and find your desired product  to uninstall.
    • On Macintosh, the uninstaller is in Applications/Utilities/Adobe  Installers.
    • Restart your computer."
