CS3 is completely dead... the activation server is gone, and the special non-activation version is also gone

>Micosoft doesn't even pull that crap

Yes Microsoft does do that - The perfectly good MS Office 97 I owned stopped working (would not even install) when I moved from a WinXP computer to a Win7 computer, and I was forced to buy MS Office again to be able to use it

Can anyone at Adobe please help me.

I received an email in reply to my original support request from "Adobe_Rick Jackson" asking me for Skype and phone details. I have given both more than 36 hours ago and received no contact or email since.

A brief description of my problem is that I had to restore my Win7 Toshiba PC from the recovery partition. I lost all programs and had to reinstall everything. When I attempted to re-install Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard, it won’t allow me to register—says it cannot reach Adobe and to make sure my internet is available (it is). I think Adobe have changed or moved their verification servers since the software was released. I don't want to buy or update to new software. This item was bought new and properly licensed. I have my original box and CD and registration number. All I want to do is to reinstall and register it so I can use it as I have successful done for the past several years since buying the product new in the box from an authorized Adobe re-seller. That’s all.

Please help.

  Thank you ,

Bil

Hi Bil,

The e-mail you received is a phishing scam. The user has since been deactivated. Adobe employees on the forum have a red "Staff" badge next to their name.

Hopefully you were able to Contact Customer Care via chat to resolve the serial number issue. Chat representatives are unable to help with technical troubleshooting of older software like Acrobat 8, but they can provide assistance with serial numbers and activation.

Best,

Del

they wont help activate, did anybody have any luck getting it activated.  sucks they won't let us activate something we paid for.  Micosoft doesn't even pull that crap.

Serial number and activation support (non-CC) https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2041990 to adjust activation count

If the Chat person sends you back to this open forum, you are out of luck... only Adobe can help, nobody here can access the activation server

Thank you John. That's what I thought. I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I'll go back to the Adobe Support Chat and try again.

Thank you!!
