Acrobat DC installation failure

I'm trying to install Acrobat DC from Creative Cloud. I keep getting installation error Code 126. I've gone through and cleaned everything Acrobat-related that I could find in the machine. Each attempt at installation fails, but when I try anew, it seems to get a little bit farther until it fails. I'm up to 12%. I'm running MacOS 10.15.7. Any clues would be much appreciated.
