Acrobat X in Win 11 25H2

I have CS6 master edn. I have previously installed components in Win 11.

Due to a hardware issue Windows 11 25H2 has been reinstalled.

I was installing Acrobat X, InDesign and Illustrator and got an error msg PxHlpa64.sys could not be installed.

I understand this file is related to use of CD/DVD drives.

A reboot failed, but I was able to recover using a restore point.

Does anyone know which elements use this file?

Or any other workaround?

Thanks

Richard

Yes, it is old, but… (Audition was also in the list)

Was installed on the original config on this machine (preinstalled W11) about 3 yrs ago and worked.

Yes I understand. In this particular case, when something worked, it doesn’t mean anything. It only means that CS6 happened to work. Nobody could tell you why it did or did not work. You can only take it as a nice unintended bonus. Three extra years of CS6 use is an occasion to celebrate, if you ask me.

CS6 is too old and too unsupported. Anything could happen on an operating system CS6 was never intended to run on.

It is on another machine that was upgraded from W11>11.

Looks like some update between 2023 and now broke it.
