Question

acrobat x reinstall after disk crash

My Windows 7 computer with a purchased Acrobat X program had a disk crash.  I lost everything and am restoring from backups, disks and online sources.

I am having a problem reinstalling Acrobat X for Windows 7 from adobe.com.  I found the downloads, downloaded the appropriate file and ran it.  It installed the program and was happy with the serial number I have.  But when I run the program and enter the serial number (again), it says it's a valid serial number, but it is an update to a prior version and that version is not on my computer, which is true since I have nothing since the crash.

On my adobe.com online account, it does not show this as a registered product.  I suspect there may be an very old account/email address involved since I bought this program years ago.  But if I try to enter the serial number, it says it is already registered ... but I can't figure out how or to what account.  I'm not even sure I could download it if I did know how to get to it!

Any help out there?  Thank you!

Whatever the older version is you should only need to have the serial number for the older version to get thru activation of version X.  If you are unable to determine what the older version is you might be able to get the Adobe Customer Support thru chat to help you determine what it is and possibly provide the serial number.

For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...
