Question

Acrobat XI need help deactivating after hd crash

I have Acrobat XI purchased with a Fujitsu Scansnap. My computer motherboard died, so I moved my SSD into another similar computer. Acrobat is now telling me I need to reregister, but I’ve used up all my registrations.

Until today, I had not registered my serial number, or at least not that I’m aware of; my only record of an acrobat account is the one I registered with, and there was nothing listed there before.

How do I go about getting my old computer’s version deregistered, so I can register on my new computer hardware?

Thanks,

Dave

    @Friendly_adventures68b1,

You’re asking for something that’s impossible to provide. Sorry.

    1. Nobody can remotely deactivate a single-purchased license for you. Only you can do that from the machine it was installed on.
    2. Adobe doesn’t reset activation counts. That technology doesn’t exist anymore..
    3. Acrobat XI from 2012 is end of life & no longer supported.
    4. For security reasons, nobody should be using unprotected products. It’s too risky.

Find a modern replacement for Acrobat XI:

    Hope that helps.

Update: I have now contacted Adobe's virtual support and also attempted to contact Adobe by telephone, but I have not been able to get this resolved.

The original computer is no longer usable because its motherboard failed. I did not have an opportunity to deactivate Acrobat XI before the failure. I moved the SSD into replacement hardware, and Acrobat now treats the replacement computer as a new activation.

This is the same legitimate Acrobat XI Standard installation that came with my Fujitsu ScanSnap. I am not trying to transfer the license to an additional working computer; I am trying to recover the activation that was lost when the original motherboard failed.

Could an Adobe Community Manager please check the activation/registration history for my serial number and confirm how many activations are currently recorded?

If there is any Adobe-supported way to release the activation associated with the failed motherboard, I would appreciate instructions. I can provide the serial number and proof that the Acrobat XI copy came with my ScanSnap privately, but I will not post the serial number publicly.

    Thank you.

A new motherboard is essentially a new computer. That license is unrecoverable.

Do you have another device with Acrobat on it that can still be deactivated?

    Failing that, you’re stuck.
