My school has just recieved an e-mail stating 'ACTION REQUIRED: Your licenses are expiring' informing us that our licenses we purchased for CS4 and CS5 products are exipiring despite us purchasing the full licesense a few years back. Why am I seeing this. Why do I have to re-new my license for something I have already bought?

Please advise

Thank you.

You know, I've heard of lots of install problems and difficulties with running such ancient software, but no such email.  There WERE cases of people who purchased 2-3 year subscriptions which they did not look closely at and assumed were permanent, but these products are now almost 10 years old (over 11 years for CS5), and how would subscriptions to two different versions, years apart, both expire at the same time...? Are you sure it is genuine, rather than random targeting by scammers? It should mention account details, and products, for example. If in doubt, please copy/paste here but remove all personal and organization details, license numbers etc.

Rjmgrant, this error often occurs if modern versions, i.e. Creative Cloud, of the applications have been installed on the computer.  Please make sure to uninstall all installed Adobe software, once complete you can then install Creative Suite 4 and 5.  Please go in order from oldest to newest.

Finally, be prepared to face errors during the update process for both applications. You can use the steps listed in https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-installation-install-logs-cs3.html and http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html to figure out what errors are preventing the update process.
