Activate Acrobat 8 - LOCKED, dead program

Hello,

I just bought Adobe Acrobat Standard 8 in the factory sealed package.

The install went fine except I cannot activate the software. The error message says connect to Internet but I am on Internet. I deactivated Virus software and no go.

I tried the phone number to activate but that is no longer a way to do it the voice mail message said.

The message said to go to Adobe.com/go/activistion. That got a 401 error.

How do I activate Adobe Acrobat Standard 8 please?
